Changing/renewing passport during application process

Hi

We're currently in the process of changing from a 457 visa to an 856 one. My daughter's passport expires next March and I was planning on renewing it sometime after we get back from our overseas trip in August.

Am I able to change it BEFORE the visa gets issued? Or do I have to wait until afterwards? I'm guessing it will be afterwards as all the paperwork so far has her current passport number on, but thought I would check on here to double check.

If we wait until AFTER the visa is issued, how much does it cost to get the visa transferred to her new passport? Does it take a long time?

Many thanks,

T x

I changed passport half way through, submitted a scan of ID page and a form, no problems.

Thanks NJ - that's good to know. I'll see what position our application is in when we get back from overseas - hoping that it'll be close to being granted, to be honest, as that will take the pressure off on a few fronts.

I just need to look into the cost of getting the visa popped into DD's new passport (which I'll probably apply for once we're back)
