Question Certified documents or Colour copies

We are going to apply for the online skilled indep visa.

I have colour copies of all our documents. Do I need to certify them or can I just scan them in colour?

I thought you only had to certify them if they were Black and White

If you scan the originals in colour they don't need to be certified (see http://www.immi.gov.au/gateways/agents/faqs/5.0.htm first paragraph 'When scanning documents use either original or certified copies of the documents.')

but if you are scanning copies even if they are in color they will need to be certified

Yes this is correct
Any documents that are 'black & white' need to be certified as a true copy of the original.
Any coloured documents do not need to be certified.
I had everything certified by my Bank Manager (for free) to be 100% sure though!!! (over 60+ pages....LOL)

If the colour copies are good enough then obviously they won't know they were not originals and you would not have to certify them. But I have to ask, if you have colour copies then I would assume you have the originals, so why not scan them anyway?

Scan in any colour original documents......you don't have to get a copy or certify them.
Some original documents are black & white, or are a black & white photocopy......these have to be certified, (obviously photocopy the black & white original to certify it!!!).
