Default CENTRELINK INTERVIEWS FOR ASSURER

Regarding the changes of Aos, does the assurer have to personally go to the Centrelink for an interview?

I thought the aussie govt were trying to help us get in sooner? Surely this will cause many assurers to think again!

Please could someone tell me that i've heard wrong!!!

Hi kg

Not sure about the interview, but my assurer has certainly thought again - see my earlier thread. I agree it seems with Centrelink taking over it's just going to make it harder.

Why can't they just make the applicant lodge a bond seems stupid to me. It's just so annoying.

The bond is only part of the assurance process. The idea is that if welfare payments exceed the bond, Centrelink can recover them directly from the assurer.

Default Re: CENTRELINK INTERVIEWS FOR ASSURER

Yes, the assurer is required to attend a Centrelink office in person, or to discuss matters on the telephone if the assurer lives in the Bush.

Your sentiments about the impact of these changes on Assurers aren't too dissimilar from mine ...

Best regards.
