Default Cases returned to the living countries from Adelaide?

Hi, all

Recently, I heard some cases were likely returned to the applicants' living countries, local embassy in fact, for immi app assessment.
But as we knew, now ONLY ASPC has the authorities to deal with the skilled immi cases as Aussie government announced before, right? So I feel quite confused by such new movement unvealed, although thru some certain inofficial channels.

So does any professional or agent be aware of this news? Any idea is highly appreciated as well!

Thanks a lot for all participants!

Hi Sherman,

A lot of African and central European applications are being dealt with in
the way you describe, with the entire file being sent back to the local post
for processing to completion. In the case of other countries with
compliance issues, such as China and India, the files are not being sent
overseas afaik, just requests for verification of documents/claims.

Cheers

Hi George,
Sorry but I am a little bit confused now.
Do you mean that Skilled Independent applications which are(were) sent to
ASPC in Adelaide are sent back to applicant country embassy to be
proceeded?
Cheers

That explains why some cases take more than a year to finalise.
Why did they tranfer everything to ASPC if they can't deal with the cases themeselves?

I don't have any official info on this, but I am guessing that it might be nearly impossible for Adelaide to know what official documents from every single country look like? It seems from statistics that most people applying for skilled-independent are from China, India and the UK, so I am sure they must have a very good idea what documents from these countries are supposed to be like. George mentioned African and central European applications - these seem to be less common, so maybe that is the reason?

That is right that they are not aware of some countries documents. But even more importantly, applicants from countries where fraudulent documents are common, will find their applications are often sent back to that country for processing.

This does not mean that if yours is sent back, that they have identified fraudulanet documents, just that Adelaide have assessed the average risk too high to be able to do effective checks from Australia.

Hi, thanks for all such helpful replies!

George & Steven,

Yes, I'm from China, do you mean since my country has been considered one of the most fraudulent docs cradle countries, ALL China apps would be sent back to local embassy for whole processing once any visa officer assigned? Or it's only for the relevant background check out?

Appreciate a lot for your experiences!

That sounds pretty interesting!
Is this a new policy or this is the way things have been till now?

This doesn't affect _sending_ applications to Adelaide, right?

    > A lot of African and central European applications are being dealt with in

How do you define "central European", in political or geographical
terms?

    > the way you describe, with the entire file being sent back to the local post

And what happens if there is no post in the country (as is the case
with Bulgaria)?

Replies much appreciated.

Hi Sherman

Only when an officer has enough concern to do so will it be referred back to the nearest Australian post to where the applicant lives. This does not mean that it has to be the whole case (or can be if there are enough concerns by DIMIA Adelaide). It usually means a check with an employer about the references or a check with one of the academic institutions.

So the decision is based on a combination of the general demographics of applications from that country and the actual paperwork of that applicant.

Hi George,
Do u know the case for Turkey? Are the applications altogether sent
back to the embassy or the consulate, just verification checks, or no
referral at all in other words cases are assessed and finalized in
Adelaide?

thanx
