Case officer finally! Any words of encouragement re: timeline?
After many long months of waiting, we now have a case officer. We're applying for a 136 and sent our application directly to Adelaide. Like many of you, the stress of being in limbo is, at times, unbearable. :-(
Is there anyone else out there applying for a 136 directly to Adelaide who found out they had a case officer before getting asked to do medicals and police checks? How long between the two was it? I know every case is different but we're about at our wits end and any words of encouragement would be greatly appreciated.
Hanging by a thread of patience,
Cantila
ps Of course I already checked austimeline.com but did not yield much information for this particular question.

Errr...correction
I clearly did not mean you all are unbearable! I meant that like many of you, I've found the *stress* to be unbearable! See what stress does to basic grammar skills?

Hi Cantila,
Just curious, how does one find he has a case officer?
Does the officer contact you ("G'day, I'm your case officer!")?

Not bloody likely,
Case oficer's name is usually mentioned at the end of communication with the
recipient (letter, email, fax)

Hi Cantila
We submitted our application which is sub class 136 in May 2002 and recieved the acknowledgement on 24 July 2002. The acknowledgement letter did have a signature (illegible) with the words 'Adelaide Skilled Processing Centre' beneath it and of course we were given a reference number to quote if necessary - so at the time no case office.
HOWEVER, our medicals were requested on the 8th February 2003 by our new case officer.
Hang in there, it won't be long now!
Which month did you apply?
Regards

You obviously didn't see my record on austimeline.com
I found out who my case officer was on the same date she actually sent out my request for medicals and police checks. Such coincidence, huh.
Anyway, if your case if properly prepared with the correct documents attached with no missing stuff or no further clarification needed, I would think it doesn't take too long for your case officer to send off the brown envelope with the medical forms.
Regards
Peter
