Default Can we have a final word on when 2 year period for SS start

Dear friends
a few websites for SS quote
" You have to live in sponsoring state for 2 years from date of arrival or Visa Grant"
Scenario#1
Suppose I get granted on 1s October 2009 and Land in my sponsoring state as late as possible to validate like July 2010 (exactly after 10 months) , does that mean i have only 14 months of committment left now
Scenario#2
Suppose I get granted on 1s October 2009 and and i validate instantly for 15 days and come back and go in jan 2011 (exactly after 16 months) , does that mean i have only 8 months of committment left now

please help

If its granted onshore, it will probably be date of grant, if offshore it will be date of arrival. Logical really, if offshore was 2 years from date of grant applicants could spend the whol 2 years offshore!

Simple really. The spirit of state sponsorship is that successful applicants have committed to and shall live and work in their sponsoring state for the first 2 years of their residence in Australia.
