I was looking to apply for state sponsorship but i stopped when i saw that the states have stopped there processing and were preparing new plans for state sponsorship.
Is there any state who is giving state sponsorship at the time or all of the states have stopped the state sponsorship till now??

Dear Sherry,

I can confirm that ACT and QLD both are offering State Sponsorship (not SMP) if your skill is the Schedule 3 of the new SOL.

I have communicated with both ACT and QLD immigration officials and both have advised that if I had my skill on the schedule 3, I could apply for SS and later apply for a 176 visa with DIAC.

And please guide me my assessment is expiring in September 2010 so i want to apply as soon as possible

Somebody has mentioned above that a couple of states are sponsoring at the moment. You need to check their websites to see if they are sponsoring for your profession. You could double check the other state websites whilst you are at it. This is not a complicated question, it is a matter of doing some very simple research and would be a lot quicker than posting on BE and sitting around waiting for somebody to answer.

September is not so far away, you should be aware that it can take a few months or longer for state sponsorship to be processed anyway.

I am hearing this for the first time that the assessment expires. How much time is usually time for expiration of assessment? Few days back i received my assessment in 263311 Telecommunications engineer from Engineers Australia. I am on the new SOL list.

although EA assessment is valid for a lifetime but for DIAC the letter from EA should not be older than 1 year

this truly mean that i have to reassessment from ACS because i have left only one month and on september it will get expired

The rule is at the time of apply to DICA ur assessment must not be expired. If my processing time is more then two years then by the time when i am about to get my PR my ielts and assessment has expired seems unfair.Correct me if i am wrong.

I dot know exact but in a way u are right but when i get assessment in september 2009 from that date i have never applied so i think i have to do reassessment .
