Can Visa be extended
We have validated PR Visas and did live in Mandurah for a while back in 2006/7 but had to return to the UK - too long a story for now! We are considering a return this year after youngest daughter sits her A levels but have a problem with eldest daughter. She is in her 3rd year of a Pharmacy degree and has another year plus a years pre-reg to complete before she's qualified. Our visas expire at the end of March 2011! Is it possible to extend her visa to allow her to join us once she qualifies? She is considering transferring but that has problems of its own, so any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for that. If I read it correctly, as long as she can prove substantial ties (ie us) she can apply for an RRV for up to 5 years. Is that right?

When are you planning to return to Australia, when was the last time she was in Australia, and when does her course finish?

Right, doesn't look quite so promising now. We were last in Aus in 2008, but not Rebecca. We are all going in April this year for a few weeks and then hope to make the move September time. We are planning to visit a couple of the Unis in Perth in April to see if she can complete her Master of Pharmacy there. The main concern is that once she leaves her course in the UK, she can't go back as the Masters can't be taken separately. She would have a degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences but wouldn't be able to work as a Pharmacist. It's a huge decision for her to make so far into her course. Think we may just apply for the RRV and see how we go.
