Hi George,
been waiting since March 08 so a few more hours/days doesn't seem that long anymore.
( I still want to know yesterday of course though)

Does this mean all normal CSL are going to be on hold then? I was never in a rush for my visa but now I have done PCC / meds I would rather my application was finalised so they last longer. I think DIAC is behaving like a headless chicken with all this chopping and changing and messing people around.

What i get from PIO is, a lot of good news for All Priority 5 people (3500 applications) who were in limbo..they are all going to be processed on basis of their date of application...Hats off for those people who have stressed themselves personally to achieve this for other applicants...especially Gill based out of London....

Cheers...

Just a brief comment on this - what has been established is in fact that they're abiding by their priorities but have been able to start working on Category 5 cases earlier than first anticipated, that is, some of the oldest Category 5 applications are now being processed. I think that realistically it's still going to be a three year wait for people applying today.

cheers,

George Lombard

Thanks for the update George, just a quick question, our application was originally submitted in Aug 08 for a 175 visa, we obtained SS at the beginning of Sept 09 and chaged our visa to a 176, we got a case officer within 4 days who requested Meds and Police checks, we did our medicals on 22 Sept the day before the rules changed, will our application be classed as a relatively new one because we switched from a 175 to a 176?

Thanks

I'm getting really confused - can someone advise - I lodged my 176 family sponsored visa in December 2008 (non CSL), does anyone know or understand if I will be looked at earlier than planned?

Dear E2S,

Family sponsored is still a three year wait, unfortunately, until priorities are reset.

Cheers,
