Default Breaking the drought... I got it!

On 06/11, I got the DIMA letter advising that my carer visa application
(BU836) was approved. I came as a visitor in 12/05 and was granted a
bridging visa as soon as I lodged my application in 01/06.

14/12/05 - arrived in Melbourne on visitor visa
10/01/06 - lodged the application for permanent residence, carer
16/01/06 - DIMA requests health assessment for my dad
19/01/06 - HSA exam for my dad
24/01/06 - received satisfactory HSA result, submitted to DIMA
04/05/06 - DIMA requests health & penal clearances, Form 80
05/05/06 - requested police clearance form from Canadian embassy
26/05/06 - fingerprints at VIC Police, mailed to my sister in Canada
28/05/06 - medical anomaly found by HSA
03/06/06 - blood test by family doctor clears anomaly, submitted to DIMA
12/06/06 - my sister mails fingerprints, application to the RCMP
10/10/06 - RCMP clearance arrives, submitted to DIMA
13/10/06 - DIMA requests AoS
18/10/06 - AoS completed at Centrelink
20/10/06 - DIMA requests 2nd visa application charge (VAC), paid
06/11/06 - letter of approval arrives (grant date 02/11/06)

Throughout the process, I phoned my CO three times. They were quite
helpful, courteous and accommodating. I never once felt that my phone
call was unwelcome. That doesn't mean others will experience the same,
but I am happy with the way DIMA dealt with me.

All the best to all.
