I am an A-level student in the UK, who would one day like to migrate to Australia, and I
have already looked at several websites about migration. I have written to ask if anyone
out there could give advice on the best way to go about migrating, i.e- will work
experience and capital increase my chances. I hear that knowing a trade gives a higher
chance, so are the qualifications for trades more important than qualifications for them??
If anyone has advice, pleas do reply on: - [email protected] , thanks!

Hi Matt The most important website is DIMA's - http://www.immi.gov.au
Bear in mind that no-one can know what Australia's immigration system will look
like in a few years, but in general terms, having a trade or professional
qualification puts you ahead of those who don't. Capital makes a marginal
difference in the skilled stream, there is a separate migration stream for
business investors.
Assuming you're a British citizen, in the meantime why not get a 12 month
working holiday visa (you will find that much easier than residency to get) at
some point in the next few years and see at first hand if Australia is for you.
