Default Best visa for family

Hi my names paul

I'm new to this so bare with me, me and my fiancé have had this dream to move to Australia for a long time, and now we're going to go for it we have 2 children aged 8 and 5,
We've looked at visas and my job isn't on the job list but iv spoke to someone in Australia who can get me a job in my trade ( asbestos removal ) and my fiancé is a care assistant
So which visa is best to get ?

Unfortunately none. If you do not have a job on one of the skills lists there is no visa your mate could sponsor you for.

Right ok, so is there no way of getting a visa if my jobs not on the list?

Nope.

You could retrain and get experience in something which has some sort of longevity on lists. You might have noticed in the news that the visa your "mate" might have been thinking of sponsoring you on has just been abolished. You missed the boat somewhat, Canberra would have been a good place to have tried with over 1000 Mr Fluffy homes to be demolished over the past few years!

Paul you can do the temp work visa thing and then your partner can study something here and move on to pr using the job list. The problem is 457 is gone and we all waiting for clarity. Hope we get it in a months time

To be sponsored on a temporary visa the occupation needs to be on one of the skills lists. The 457 is being replaced with a new temporary visa, but the same criteria will apply.
