hi Rob
I may be wrong, but you should be OK with 7.5 years plus the stat dec.
The stat decs have to be witnessed and worn by a solicitor (as we have just found out!)
Are Vic different to SA then, as SA you can't apply for sponsorship until you get the TRA back??

Hi Michelle,
I am applying for a skills assesment for a Sheet Metal worker-First class.
I have one years trade certification through City and Guilds with another certification for the Engineering Industry Training Board and have at least 15 years work experience in the trade.
I am struggling to get employment references at the moment as all but one have ceased trading so i can only get the last employer to do me a detailed reference for 7 and a half years.
Think i maybe able to get an ex employee, supervisor, to do a stat dec for another 6 years but that seems to be it. the rest i will hope that a stat dec from myself, witnessed by a solicitor, will be accepted.
Any thoughts?
Rob

We needed to provided statements or evidence for every instance of employment but that was impossible as sub-contracting it was sometimes only a couple of days here and there with some jobs and then moved on. Not all contractors gave payment advices or anything so I got intouch with Glenn and he just said that I can only send what I can send and he'll take it from there.
So until he gets back to me i'm still panicing, i wasn't expecting it to take this long.
