Australian Visa Specialists?
Hi there,
I'm just setting the ball rolling for our skilled migration visa. I had heard that Liz O'Hagan was a good migration agent to go with in Irealnd so I contacted her directly.
I received a response from Australian Migration and Visa Lawyers saying that she has recently joined with them and detailing their fees etc for processing our application.
I was just wondering if anyone else has used them as it would be nice to have a recommendation before going any further with them, and we're a bit wary of applying ourselves in case it doesn't work out.
Thanks a mil

When we first began the process we went to the Migration Expo in Kings Hall, Belfast. One of the people we spoke to was Liz O'Hagan, though she didn't work for Australian Migration & Visa Lawyers at that time. She made alot of promises about what she would do to help and never got back to us. Even after leaving messages for her.
We are now using Australian Migration & Visa Lawyers (http://www.australianmigrations.com.au. We have found them to be very good indeed. Byron Pugh from this company will be at the Expo in Dublin on 20-21st October and I can thoroughly recommend using them.
If you have any questions regarding this company feel free to PM me or post her for all to benefit.

Darren

Darren,
Thanks for the speedy reply!
It was Byron who I had actually just gotten the email from so we're going to go along to the expo on Sunday to have a chat with him and see what else is there.
Do you think it's worth spending the extra money to get a migration agent to help with the visa or would you go it alone? It seems like a lot of cash but then I'd hate for our application to be turned down if we made a silly mistake on it..
Thanks

I didn't like the thought of spending all that money either but having dealt with numerous government departments in the past I know just how difficult and complicated it can be, so we decided to pay a professional to do it all for us.
When we applied for our TRA, it was initially unsuccessful and if we had been handling this ourselves we would not have know where to turn or what to do to get a successful appeal. Byron and Selena Yen in particular processed the appeal and we were successful in the 2nd attempt .
BTW: Byron is a very nice Lady.

Darren,
That's exactly why I suppose I'm swaying towards paying someone to do it for us, but I suppose it just seems like a lot to pay out...
Thanks for the Byron tip - could've been embarassing!

Hi,
We to are using Australian Migration and Visa Lawyers for two different visas, one business visa which is being handled by Mege in Dublin and at the moment an assessment with the TRA for our son who is an electrician, once he has passed will then be applying for his visa through Byron. We went to expo in London last October and met with Ben Willis the other MD, he also spoke at the various seminars, what came across was a very knowledgable guy and very honest.
They have been so helpful, and we feel well worth the money, helped us with everything including writing our business plan, they seem very switched on.
Best wishes
Lisa
