Re: Australian Citizenship - Ministerial discretion(discretion 5)
She will not be the lucky one. As it can be done. One of my South African mate did it. He got the ministerial bla bla she just have to submit those document as mentioned in the guide book.
If the law is there if some one use a loophole in it and it can stand in the court of law. Then it is not fair or unfair. It is called smartness.
Note: I do have right to my opinion too. Trend is set. So now can all the spouses who are in same boat jump. Atleast they don't jump of the boat in Christmas Island )))

Not judging one way or another, just interested as to why she needs Citizenship enough to apply for Ministerial Discretion? I can't see the urgency, am I missing something?

Re: Australian Citizenship - Ministerial discretion(discretion 5)
I have recently applied for citizenship using this same ministerial discretion. Somewhat different circumstances but I will report back as things progress.
I did read through the other thread and there were many useful bits of information which helped me.

My application was received on March 7 and I have not heard a peep out of them since. Checking the website, processing times have blown out to 10 to 14 months average. I called but they do not provide comment if you are within the average processing times.

All conferral citizenship processing was paused from 20 April until this week. It's going to take a while for them to catch up.
