No. You can apply onshore.

However you have to leave the country during the time when visa is granted.

OK, I just have thought, that as Victoria has 3 eligibility lists for state sponsorship, your occupation must be on the list for 886 visa, and not for 176.

Did they give you any reason why they refuse your application?

I think my skill 2231-79 (SAP) is there in 176 list.

They gave a very generic reason like 'we didnt find it suitable...' kinda thing.I dont think that is the case, as they hardly took a day to decide that, whereas I would have thot that even if my profile is not one of the best, it is not one of the worst to be rejected on a single day either..I have MODL(SAP), overall 8.5 in IELTS, have a permanent job with reputed IT firm in aus for 1 yr with a high package..

So I should think there must be some other reason to reject it within 1-2 days, as they dont accept 'good' applications in 1-2 days, do they?

But as SAP is on the MODL, it means that it is also on the Critical Skills List as an IT occupation, isn't it?

Why do you need then the SS? The process for an independent 175 CSL should just last 2-3 months longer than for a state sponsored 176. If you have a good job wouldn't be better to wait and get an independent visa without the mandatory 2 years restriction?

I hv completed Medical and reports will sent by panel doctor infact received by HOC today. They gave me a receipt and curier reference.

Should I mail/attach @ DIAC scan copy of Medical receipt only or the FedEx Airway Bill too?

Check up unit provided me both of receipt and FedEx AWB.

Yes you are very right..I have wondered about it for long before actually applying for SS.

I just thot that I would apply for it, and depending on if and when I get the SS, I will take a call.

Sydney is one of the best place for my profession and i want to be there in the long run anyways..altho i have a good job in perth now, I am toying with the idea of getting into independent contracting , when market gets a bit better...I have already started getting calls, but people invariably back out hearing my residency status..this has happened at least 3 times in past 1 month. This is making me crazy and more and more desperate to get the PR.
If NSW SS comes thro, it is expected to come very soon (in 4-5 weeks)..and optimistically thinking, probably i shud get my PR in another 2-3 months from then. If I get NSW SS in 2-3 months time from now, probably iw will stick to 175.

2-3 months for getting a visa granted after state sponsorship seems to be realistic nowadays.

Good luck!

Just noticed that my application status changed to 'Application being processed further'.

Browsed thro BE old threads to churn out the meaning of it, but didnt get any definitive answer. I don't even dare to think that I have a CO, as I have applied on 20th Aug only, and no SS yet

So was just wondering if any other August applicant has the same situation?

Also, if somebdy can tell me the meaning of this status change, wud be great.

I don't think that you have a CO. But if you send any PLE even that status will change like that . Did you send any PLE?

No. I didnt send any communication to DIAC.

However, my SS application with NSW is 10 days into processing, and they have promised a result within 2-4 more weeks. Not sure if the status change has anything to do with it or not. May be they enquired with DIAC about something

I applied around the same time as you and my status hasn't changed at all (just checked).
Looks like your going to be in OZ soon.
Keep us informed.

I am already in Oz for 1 year mate. But I know what u mean, and thanks a lot.

However, I really dont think CO has been assigned, unless NSW has processed SS at a ligtening speed and forwarded it to DIAC

Hi peeps,

I am an August applicant (21st August). Already in Perth on a 495 but applied onshore (online) for a 887 perm visa. Spoke to Brisbane Skills Processing Centre last tuesday, and they said they were allocating CO for applications received on 17th August, so might not be too much longer until we get CO! God knows how long it takes after that though.

When you are allocated a CO, does anyone know if the online status changes?
