Re: August 2008 Applications
To hopefully give people some optimism, I thought I would let you know that I received confirmation that a case officer has been appointed for my visa application
I lodged my application on 9th August '08, visa type 176 with state sponsorship from Canberra, ACT as an IT Systems Manager and started the long wait for a case officer to be appointed, for those that have religiously been checking their visa application the indication that I got on the electronic application website is the additional entry which looks like the below:
09/08/2008 Application received - processing commenced Message
09/08/2008 Application fee received Message
14/01/2009 Application being processed further
Does not exactly say case officer appointed, but a quick phone call to my consultant confirmed that one has been appointed and that he recieved an email this morning requesting medicals and police check (more money to spend )
The really good news is that these have also been requested for our two eldest daughters who are 20 and 21 respectively and working and not automatically classified as dependents which we expected to be refused at this stage, lets hope they get accepted on my visa.
Good luck to every one else, but I thought I would let you know things are moving and what to look out for on the website when it happens for you.

Re: August 2008 Applications
We applied on August 10th - 175 (non-sponsored). My skill is on ther MODL and the new CSL but since we're further down the ladder than sponsored applications, I'm guessing another few months berfore we get a CO.

Re: August 2008 Applications
Great to hear that everyone is happy and waiting for a good news.....but since I'm from a HR country and non-MODL, things are looking rather gloomy for me...
I'm there right at the bottom of the processing list and absolutely no idea when a CO will be assigned. The more high priority apps coming in, the more it'll get delayed. :curse:
Anyone else in the same soup?

Re: August 2008 Applications
The state sponsored applicants for this visa grant year should apparently all be allocated to a CO by February 13th. Those of us that are on tht CSL but who are not sponsored will not be assigned a CO until at least then. Hopefully, come February 13th, things will start moving for us.
