Re: asthma and medicals
My other half has asthma, & had no problems with the meds. The only difference between his medical & mine was that they made him blow into that little tube thing that measures lung capacity (don't know what it's called, but I'm guessing you'll know what I'm talking about!) - he got a normal result.

I don't have asthma as such, but I do suffer from bronchitis a lot; the doctor asked me to blow into that tube thingy, and it took me three goes to get a reading! I had the same problem at work where we had regular tests because of working in a lab, and I could never manage a good reading - apparently I have small lungs or something and so they don't hold enough air! Passed the medical no problem though, the doctor said if that was the normal thing that happened on blowing into the tube, that was OK with him.
Do a search on the lifestyle forum too - I'm sure asthma has been discussed there a lot.

My mum had Asthma and they even found out she did have TB which left scaring on the lung. Yes they take it seriously, but my Mum passed!

Re: asthma and medicals
hi paul,
we had our meds in april and i am asthmatic, had to blow into the peakflow meter but all was fine , the doctor didn't even seem concerned about it. It's kept under control by ventolin and becotide and the doctor seemed quite happy. I asked him if it would be a problem and he said no although obviously it's not his decision. I wouldn't worry about it.
