Assurance of Support question
Hi There
We have just received a message from our assurer that they have been asked to lodge the bond money within 14 days - Does this mean subject to medical and police clearance we are in??? Please tell us yes!!! We are hoping to get to sunny Brisbane next July/August and would love to hear from anyone else going out that way.... |

Thanks Julia We applied 15 May main application, skilled, and received a letter from DIMIA end of August saying that they would get in touch with our assurer. He received a letter 1 October saying payup within 14 days. We were pre July so I dont know what difference that makes to the time etc Good luck with your application |

We have applied for our pcc and go for our medicals 1/12/04 so DIMIA will have everything before xmas..... hopefully we'll have our visa's early next year Good luck

Re: Assurance of Support question
Hello I am new to this too, our assurers have been asked for the Bond money and we would love to know as they are going halfs does one pay $3500 and the other pay the $1500 or do they both have to pay $5000 into two different accounts, also does this been we will nearly get our visa's!! Our Visa seems to be going through really quick, we are post July.
Thanks |

Re: Assurance of Support question
Hi Jan
Thanks for that but the strange thing is we havn't a case worker so when I e mailed DIMIA they said our application hadn't been assessed yet but they were getting the assurance money first! The good thing is they did say in the unlikely event of a visa not being issued they would refund the money. And the time before it gets passed to a case worker.......... it maybe a long time! The wait is agony! Where are you going to? are you being sponsored? Ta ra Tandy

Re: Assurance of Support question
July/Aug in Brisbane almost equals mid-winter. Cool nights (for us - a doona
might be required) but beautiful days with clear blue skies. Seas warm enough for non-Queenslanders to swim. Little/no rain during winter because we get our main rainfall in summer months (together with the occasional severe storm). No problem once you are used to them. We are now heading into summer and today's Max temp was just over 28oC with 75% humidity. Unleaded petrol approx 95c per litre (less 4c litre if you usesupermarket saver dockets). "Experts" tipping fuel prices to stay at these higher prices. Has been up to approx $1.05pl. Meat prices high at present because of widespread drought. Rump steak could be up to about $28 per kilo everyday price - but drop to about $10 (or less) on special. On UK trip, we noticed our prices similar to UK but in $Aust instead of English pounds. |
