Assets required on a STNI 137

Hey,
Does anyone know how much assets and/or hard cash I am required to have when applying for a STNI. Do they check it your finances, Can it affect your chances of getting the visa ?

When I applied (to NSW) I just told they about my UK home and how much I was expecting to take to OZ - there were no checks and no questions asked. I made it clear that I could support myself financially for at least 2 years.

137 visa has been replaced by 176 (for new applicants).
