Default Assessment

All this assessment talk has got me wondering - we sent degree etc to some governing body in Oz to authorise before we sent in the application. Is this what everyone means - or have I missed something?

Yes, it's called the Pre-Application Skills Assessment (PASA). You should download the Skilled Migration Booklet 6 (now available free from http://www.immi.gov.au/) as the details for the skills assessment are actually there.

The PASA is the first step before you get to the PR application proper. A valid skilled visa application cannot be lodged without a PASA.

Pre application skills assessment is compulsory. You can't apply for
skilled migration without it. Read the Skilled Migration Booklet.
