Not an expert... just my 2 cents... Apparently it seems so, if you can correlate your existing ASCO code with new ANZSCO code.

Thumbs up Re: SAP functional applying for 261111 or 261112

Hi Guys

Did you try sending message to ACS or DIAC regarding the same. I have sent a message enquiring them.

I have applied for ACS assesment under ASCO 2231-79( SAP Specialist). I have sent them a query to find the equivalent code for the same in the new ANZSCO.

As the Java Specialist and Siebel Specialist have been mapped to the ANZSCO code 261313 Software Engineer and 261311 Analyst Programmer respectively, I hope there should be a equivalent mapping for the SAP specialist as well. The reply will clarify all....

(Link: http://www.business.nsw.gov.au/migra...NI_Skilled.pdf )

I'm still waiting on their reply, counting on the reply...

But ANZSCO 261399 is not on the SOL, i am wondering if that document with "Schedules" was announced then what is the use of new SOL?

Hi djmjx

The link http://www.business.nsw.gov.au/migra...NI_Skilled.pdf suggests that Java and Siebel specialist are being mapped to the new ANZSCO code 261313 and 261311. From my understanding ACS should be able to clarify with specific ANZSCO code that's in the NEW SOL for the other specialisations as well.

I think ACS has still more to release.

The problem is that if v look up for task characteristics of 261399, it's nowhere related to Sap skills...even if there's a call for SS against 261399, don't think sap functional skills will be applicable...
However, 261112 matches sap functional profile quite closely and am unsure wat new documentation (apart from wat I had already submitted for 2231-79 assessment) should I send them?

Eugenep-- negative for applying against 175..it will be outrightly rejected..

So where do we go from here? There are so many threads on this forum with differing statements, ideas and opinions! However that sheet on the official DIAC sit FAQ has it clear in my opinion. I was hoping to wake this morning and have some solid information from my migration agent who's been paid alot of money and it seems like I know more than him!!
I did ask the question to DIAC 3 days ago (5 to reply) maybe I'll wait and see what they say.

May be only NSW is mapping these specializations to 261313 and 261311, other states are still silent.

b) Equally, no significant changes for people who are state sponsored already, provided the visa application has been lodged. If not lodged, check that the sponsorship is still valid, and do so quickly.
c) IT people - ACS has advised that if your skills assessment was issued between 1 May and 30 June you can be reassessed under ANZSCO for free, but be careful that you have an occupation on the SOL ("Schedule 3) or State SOL ("Schedule 4") before you request that reassessment, and be prepared to justify the occupation you choose. Every existing ACS assessment needs to be reissued if it hasn't been linked to a visa application already, those issued before 1 May require an entirely new skills assessment application and fee. Also important for IT people to be aware that there are now a number of totally excluded IT occupations and at this stage the IT occupations being sponsored by states are unknown, so therefore only current SOL occupations are safe. This is going to be particularly hard on many specialists awarded MODL/CSL status under the previous SOL.
d) There is no "direct mapping" of ACS occupations from the old SOL to the new SOL or new State SOL.

Cheers,

George Lombard
Hi George,

As always, excellent information, if only DIAC could explain things as simply as you

What is the situation if someone who already has an ACS assement lodged with a 175 application (back in Nov 08) and they now go and get re-assesed under a new code (pay the fee etc) if they get that new assement and it is on the SOL or State SOL how do they go about updating there existing application? or do they basically have to start a new application from scratch and write off the old one and anything paid towards it?

Cheers
Steve

Yea that true, but does it mean that,

2231-79 (Java/J2EE specialist) mapped to 261313 Software Engineer
2231-79 (Seibel specialist) mapped to 261311 Analyst Programmer

and people got them can go ahead and lodge 175 and 176 without getting the new ANZSCO codes ?

I think so. It's always been one code that all states and DIAC follows and as NSW has put a foreword, it should have been an officially verified information.

Hi Guys,
DIAC has now released the new SOL with schedules. The Schedule 4 list has ASCO 2231-79 mapping. But there is one issue. For Schedule 4 DIAC is saying that:
the State and Territory SOL (schedule 4 ) – relevant only for GSM applicants who are nominated by a State or Territory government agency under a State Migration Plan.

And no state has released their SMP yet. also what about the existing state sponsorship which the applicants used for 176. I am getting confused here.

Thanks.
