I hate to breed false hope - but you might be the next April applicant to receive a VISA. Have you completed the Form 1022 - change in circumstances to let them know that 1) you're in Australia 2) You have a job . I think those things make your case stronger.

RickinBrisbane, a December applicant, went to Brisbane 8 weeks ago. He let them know about his change of address, and job offer. DIAC told him last week to leave the country - with the anticipation that he'll have his VISA in about 7 days. Expect to hear his good news any day now.

He recommended people call DIAC - it can't hurt - especially in your situation.

hi just been readin te last few threads, just clear up i DONT have a job offer just an australian g/f, i have worked in oz b4 when i went travelling for a year.

We actually applied for the visa onshore so i don't think we will get it any quicker but it is a nice thought.

I spoke to our immigration officer and he went to a seminar yesterday and they asked the senior spokesperson from the DIAC how long applications were taking and they couldn't answer him, That does not look good.

Oh well lets all keep our fingers & toes crossed that we all get Visa's soon

Hi, I'm one of april applicants. I've got a question for you guys. I work at a multinational consulting firm and I was just told that I might be going to work in Melbourne office for the next project. This is not a permanent transfer so I am eventually going back to my country when the project done. But I'm going to work for at least a year in Oz. Can this be considered as an australian job offer to expedite the process?

Will you have to have temp visa to work there for your project??? I think you will...if you then inform DIAC of you change of circumstances then this may put your permanent visa application through quicker...but of course you will have to leave Australia while they issue your Perm. visa.

Thanks Dodge, I was just hoping that I can get the perm visa directly without going through a temp visa process.

But if your company are sending you there to do a project surely they would organise the temp visa for you - so that should not be any work for you??? All you would have to do is just notify DIAC.

hi all
just found this site ,so great to find all the other april people ,got mine accepted 25th april so just waiting for my co !!! by the look at it a long wait ??? someone tell me some good news !! all i can see and read at the moment is its going to be december at the earliest( i sent paper based) ???
done all my preparation passed ielts and skills test before it went in ,my agent has told me to wait until a co until i get my meds and p/o but might try and save time and take early maybe around november ??? any advice ??

Also RickinBrisbane just reported that he received his Visa on 14 July - was a December appliant

So that's 9 that were listed on this site for the week so far

Dodge - You said you'd get really excited when it reaches 2008 - unofficial report from Another Site - January 2008 Applicant has received PR VISA! Just found out it's another electrician!

Also heard of another electrician - May 2008 Applicant (again another site) that received PR VISA yesterday!

There are some 2008 PR Visas being granted!

Welcome to the April 2008 Thread! Thanks for sharing your timeline.

It does look like it will be a longer wait for you as you submitted your application in paper form. As an online applicant, I'm thinking October/November for Visa Grant.

We are not planning to do Meds until September - or maybe late August.
