Default Applying for eVisitor

Hi
I think I might be going to Australia in a month or two, for a few weeks. However, these plans are not set in stone. Should I apply for an eVisitor visa incase I do? And this might sound silly, but if I applied for one and didn't go, could I get in trouble for applying for a visa and not going :S Sorry, just have to make sure

Bear in mind that you were posting in the middle of the night Aus time Not yet 7am in Queensland, for instance.

There is no problem in applying for it and not using. If you don't use it, it'll just expire. You don't have to state what dates you are travelling on, so just get it, and then you'll have it there if you need it

Thanks very much for your help. Another question, is that if I get it, if I applied to migrate there when I was older, would having an eVisitor affect the migration process?

Not in the slightest, I had half a dozen ETAs for holidays before I actually emigrated

Its on the forms, they ask if you have held AUssie visas before. Just be honest, ots not a problem
I am now on a PR spouse visa, before that I had half a dozen ETAs, a Prospective Marriage visa and a temp spouse visa. I never even considered not mentioning them, just listed the lot.

If you knowingly omit details like that from the form it may look as if you have something to hide.

COuld you please explain that comment as I am puzzled as to what you mean by "second rate"? I have been in Aus for nearly 6 years, God help me, and I did come straight through immigration with (at that time) a Prospective Spouse visa.
