Default Applied for Australian citizenship with few concerns

Hi there,

I have finally applied for Australian citizenship having met the requirement of being a lawful permanent resident for 4 years.

I have couple of concerns though. Sometimes I convince myself that it should be ok but you never know what the officer may place an objection on. My concerns are:
  1. I recently had my Birth Certificate issued, as I’ve never had a birth certificate before - I've always used my country passport and Australian driver's license for my date of birth evidence. Would this be a matter of concern of never having a birth certificate issued before and having it issued just now - dated January 2014?
  2. My Birth Certificate is only having my first name and family name and has my middle name left out. However, my passports (expired and current), my Vicroads Driving License, Medicare card, have my full name i.e First, Middle and Last name. Would this be a major concern?

Please reply.

Thank you.

Cheers

As they were happy to give you PR, I am sure they will be happy to give you citizenship if you qualify. I think you are worrying about nothing, but even if it does raise some questions, just answer them honestly and you will be fine.

Thank you for your reply louie. If citizenship staff would ask during my citizenship appointment, I can just tell them that they just left out my middle name from the birth certificate.

Do i need to go through all the rigamarole of getting a stat declaration just for the middle name.

I hope this middle name thing will not be a ground for refusal?

Has anyone had this situation before of not having the middle name in some documents?

Don't worry about the Birth Cert only being issued this year. Many people don't have birth certs, for a range of difference reasons... Many people just know their year of birth so usually have 1st of January in that year as their birth date. It's very common.

Regarding the middle names - I don't have them on my birth cert but I had no issue getting them put on my citizenship cert and passport.

You'll be fine so don't worry and congrats
