Default applied for 176 got 175??

Hi,

Slightly confused... I was granted SA state sponsorship and applied for a 176visa, however I now have my visa and it clearly says 175, as does all other correspondence from the department.

Whats going on?

Did you originally apply for a 175 and later switched to a 176 ?

It says 175 because that is the visa you were granted. They are both PR visas but the 175 does not come with state restrictions. It's a good thing, so don't worry about it and get on with the rest of your plans for emigration.

i wonder if it has something to do with your nominated occupation?? will those who got this type of visa "change", may be so kind to confirm by kindly mentioning your nominated occupation?

for curiosity sake, what was the first letter from your CO states? did he/she refers to your visa application as 176 and then granted you 175 later on OR he/she refers to your visa application to be as 175 even on his/her first contact with you? do i make sense?

Maybe your occupation is on CSL and they can justify approving you as a 175 as the more favourable subclass for you.

Regards

Sure, Im classed as a General Electrician. Applied for 175, changed to 176 state sponsored shortly after my trade was taken off the CSL, few months later they granted me a 175.
No explaination why, my guess is that my CO fancied me. A LOT.

I am computing professional - SAP Specialist....

My CO never mentioned 176. Neither in 'Document request email' nor in Grant letter.....

So looks like its 175 only!!
