We actually had our mediclas etc last March!! But we have had quite a few problems and had t change Assuror at the last minute.
We received a letter stating that subject to our Assuror lodging the bond we would need to be in Aus by 16 April! You need to send a copy of this letter to your assuror as they cannot lodge the bond without it. You assuror will also need 100 points of proof of identity, ie passport etc. It then costs $200 to open the accounts (if there are 2 of you)
The problem we have had is that our assuror was also asked to produce coppies of everything that he had signed to do with our application. He does not have copies of all of this, and so I am trying to establish whether this is a hard and fast rule or just one they have come up with at the branch he went to.
If anyone knows the rules it woudl be much appreciated.

Hi Sarah
We recieved a letter from Adelaide requesting that our sponsor lodge the
bond. All they had to do was take a copy of this letter to the Commonwealth
Bank
There was some slight confusion because the letter stated that our assuror
had been sent a copy - she never got one, and when we contacted Adelaide
they said no, they don't send one, we were responsponsible for getting a
copy to the assuror. Very strange!
Other than that it was a pretty straightforward process. If you have reached
this stage, basically you've got it. Congratulations in advance!
