we are going brisbane/gold coast but i'd consider any areas really so long as we get there but we have met alot of people who are heading to the same area and some have become good friends who we will definatly get together with when we get there so that makes it a bit easier when you have people there already
not heard of port stephens/anna bay they sound nice though

it's about a 3 hour drive north of sydney, along the coast, near/past newcastle.

like you, we'll consider all areas, have a really open mind, but don't want to go from place to place as we've got 2 kiddies (8 & 3), and need to settle them as soon as. my sister is considering brisbane way, although i don't think she has looked into areas yet.

sorry kellie, went to bed last night. way past my bedtime.............

yup, older bros already there, went to nz for nearly 4 years, then went over to aus, been there nearly 8 years. we've are in the middle of applying, older sister and family are getting their stuff together to submit. younger brother and family are prabably going to apply. she's a nurse, so will get fastracked (or so i'm led to believe). she does want try and do her midwifery b4 they go though, so it looks as though it will be in a couple of years time. mum and dad were hoping to come out the same time as us, on a retirement visa, but not enough spondoolies, they are not millionaires!!! whoever gets there first will have to sponsor them once they have been over in aus for 2 years (balance of family visa). so, yep, family affair.

like you we have to consider the lad of 8 with schooling. it changed schools last year, and it took him a wee while to get settled. don't want to be dragging him round australia, in and out of schools, will have to get settled asap, and try to hit the ground running.

any news on the visa front?
