Anyone have to find extra points when Case Officer rejects references?
We've just had our Case Officer ask for more evidence to support a claim for "Recent Experience" points for a 136 MODL Visa App. We don't think we'll have much luck with providing the additional proof as the job in question was 3 years ago. She has indicated that we may be able to look at spouse skills or bonus points to get us through. Has anyone else been here?????

Are you able to give evidence of your employment of three years ago?
I have had to give 3 employer references since that of my skills being assessed (2001-2005)
DIMIA have not requested anymore info as yet. My application was submitted on March 29th

The evidence can be in the form of payslips or bank statements (haven't got em for 2002) or tax documents. We've got the P60's for the period required but I've emailed a scanned copy of them to see if they'll do. If not then the Case Officer has suggested we can look at other routes to obtaining the 5 points needed.

- Is there a reason why you need the points? (eg over 40?). Most MODL applicants do not need work experience points.
- If case officer is following the rules, spouse skill points should not be available now as the spouse must nominate a skilled occupation on the form 47SK.
- Have you tried asking your employer for old copies of your payslips (you probably know now that it's not the smartest thing on earth to throw away documentation). Similarly, you can get old bank statements provided you pay.
- Have you thought about getting an STNI nomination (you won't need points then)? Although you will need to change your destination as Queensland does not sponsor offshore migrants for STNI.
- Capital investment is another option.
- A further way to get points (if you're MODL) is to get a job offer from an eligible Australian employer.

Terminology
Is it correct to assume that you actually mean "Specific Work Experience" (which qualifies for points) rather than "Recent work Experience" which is a basic requirement for migration?
