any possibility for the passmark to be reduced to 55??

Hello, guys!

I'v lost 5 points as of 7th October because I turned 33.
So my point is now 55.

One of my friend who submitted EOI on the same day with me with 60 points(same occupation) got an invitation on 15th October!

I should have been born 8days later to get invited, my bad luck!

According to someone's analysis, by November most 60 pointers would be expected to be invited and here is my question.

If there aren't enough 60 and over 60pointers for next round or subsequent rounds,(it seems so from the analysis referred to above)
do you think the immigration would lower the passmark to 55??

It might sound stupid and nobody knows how the Australian immigration policy would be changed.
But for me, it is very time consuming and costly to get another 5points so I am in a desperate situation!

I should think that it would be a lot more time consuming to wait for the pass mark to be lowered. You need to find some more points, what do you have for IELTS?

Welcome to the forum. :)

I would think that it's highly unlikely to be reduced to 55 so soon after reducing it to 60. If you haven't taken the IELTS test, or don't have the maximum points from it, I'd suggest taking/retaking IELTS for the extra points.

Thank you for your reply. I have each band 7, overall 7.5.
Each band 8 seems beyond my ability because I am not a native speaker
although some non-natives achieved it.

I am expecting a baby early next year so everything seems so tough at the moment!

It might be worth using a qualified IELTS tutor to help you prepare. Congratulations on the baby. :)

Have you looked into state or regional sponsorship? That would get you 5-10 points.

I studied in Australia and don't have any experience in my field.
That's why I am not qualified for state sponsorship. :(
I am planning on taking PY program as I specialised in accounting here.
Thank you guys for precious advice!:)
