I was born in UK, emigrated to Oz in 1979 and became Australian Citizen in 1982. I have an Australian Passport but British Passport has expired. Could anyone tell me if I am still a British Citizen?

My Son wishes to get a British Passport and live in UK for a while. As I believe he is a British Citizen by Decent this shouldn't be an issue but this will depend on my continued citizenship.

Yes.
Unless you went to the British Consulate to formally sign away your British citizenship.


Normally he should be a British citizen by descent. The main exception concerns unmarried fathers.
If he was born before 1983 to a British mother then additional formalities are required.

thanks JaJ, he was born in May 1983 so my (mother) citizenship should be good.
