Hi Sleeping Beauty Thanks for the Welcome We Applied end May 2006 for a CPVisa ,the rate we are going on we might make it sometime in the next year or so .LCU are in a Right Mess and it get worse every day.According to POPC they process at least 10 CPV visas a week ,if the Meds are taking 10 weeks to be uploaded that means there are 100 in the pipeline at LCU waiting to be dealt with . Considering that those of us that are applying for CPVisas are rather oldish and are waiting over a year before getting a Case Officer to add an additional 2 to 3 months on top seems rather callous . Were hoping to get over for our Granddaughter 2nd Birthday ,probably might get over to see her married !!

when is it her birthday? if you have no further ties in the UK (meaning property to sell etc), why dont you do what a few others on here have done, and finish off your application in Australia, and then go to somewhere like NZ for a few days whilst your visa is granted.

Hiya

Thank you for the offer - but yes, we had already set off. Coming back, the traffic from the Raymond Terrace exit to the start of the F3 above Newcastle was horrendous.

The CPV wait seems to be dragging out again ? You'll have to pass on the baton to someone else once your parents get their approvals

I spoke to POPC recently and they said they had the most applicants of CPV's ever, more than the normal quotas for each year

Has anyone thought, this could be the reason for the medical delay's? It might be a deliberatly slow to stall visas granted to over the 12 month mark due to the volume of people applying, rather than the government increasing the visa quota

Anyway's good luck guys - this isn't a picnic. I don't think anyone has had to wait over 12 months so hopefully they'll get their finger out. You all deserve good news soon...good luck everyone

Hi Sleeping Beauty Unfortunatly we have property to sell and a few other bits and pieces to tie up otherwise we would have done the applicatiobn from OZ,There are lots of CPV applicants that are now over the year mark and it seems to be moving out to between 12 - 14 month from start to getting a Case Officer

Can anyone shed any light on how you can pick up the CPV from NZ please?

Can you go to NZ for a day and pick the visa up?

Where do you pick it up from?

Sorry for asking stupid questions. I appreciate it if there is anyone who can shed some light on this please

Hi we went to NZ to pick up our visa they advised us to go for a week in case there were any delays but it was ready after 3 days, we went to the embassy to get it you just go in get a ticket from the machine and wait in the queue and it was busy but worth the wait best wishes

Janet, I just found this post by JAJ [post number 3 i think]

http://britishexpats.com/forum/showthread.php?t=478437

Does this mean I shouldn't do this....has the law changed since you went to NZ for your visa as I presume you got a tourist visa to put you on till you picked up the CPV?

Sorry for all the questions Janet

Hi we went to Aukland and the embassy is on the main high street,we stayed at a small hotel on the high street so we were central to everything.
