Hi,

This may sound so funny, but I really need some comment on it.

I'm known by a different pet name(short name) by all my near ones and neighbors where I live. This name is not included in the application as I don't have any of my document used this name.

While verifying the address where I live, will it be a problem as my neighbors might not know my full name provided with application?

Who or why would anyone be verifying your address where you live?

I've found one of my friend whose address was verified where he lives. It's a part of verification to validate the Form 80 answers(where you lived for last 10 years?). It's part of security checking.

But I don't know if it happens for every applicant or not! If it happens for me, will it be problem to be known by a short name different than the one provided in the area where I live?

I'm sure it asks on form 80 of other names you have been or are known by. Why not send an amendment including this name with comments that it is the name you are known by locally but not officially.

It can't do any harm and may help to put your name at rest.

Its very strage that they do verify at all locations where you lived. :ohmy:
I have also changed my location without notifying DIAC. That means I should not wait to inform them that I am no more present on the address specified at form 80. Got another job now :thumbdown:
