ACS Skills Assessment

Hi,
I have a 4 years Degree in Bachelors of Technology(Electronics and Instrumentation) from India, completed in June 2002. and have IT experience since Jan 2003 till date(fulltime)
I have 7.5 years of IT experience,
What category should I be applying under for skills assessment ?
Should I be filling RPL form ?

Thanks

Re: ACS Skills Assessment

It depends upon the content of your degree and what percentage of it is directly related to ICT. It does not sound like a very ICT specific degree so unless you have another industry recognised certification (such as MCSE) to substitutre for a ICT degree, it's almost certain you'll have to complete a RPL.

The PASA Guidelines for Appicants document on the ACS website will explain in greater detail and clarify matters. It's worth downloading and having a read.

Thanks for your reply.
So basically RPL is for someone who does not have an OCT related degree but wants to seek assessment based on the experience held ?

Re: ACS Skills Assessment

Yes, but in order to be successful with RPL you also need to have a significant number of years work experience, maybe 6 or 8. I can't remember the full facts but the ACS website does explain the requirements in detail, it's just a case of navigating to the right areas.

Everything you need can be found from here:

Best of luck.

Hello Gauravs,
Depending on the content of your Degree you may be able to lodge a Group B application. It may be worth your while having your options assessed by a Migration Agent before committing to an RPL application.
