Can anyone tell me whether a Certificate IV Qualification that took 14
months to complete would qualify under the ACS guidelines for recent
graduates and allow me to be exempt from the Work experience
requirements? I have a Post Graduate Diploma in IT which was
completed in 1999 but am currently studying for a Certificate IV in
Computer Animation in Australia and wanting to apply for ACS
assessment and PR when I complete the course, and wish to know whether
I can be exempt from the 4 years work experience requirement by using
the course I am currently doing (Certificate IV in Computer
Animation). Thank you!!!

Lifted off the ACS skills assessment guidelines:

"Group C: Applicants with

- an Australian Bachelor degree, or a conversion program (e.g. Graduate Diploma or Masters degree) or a Post Graduate Diploma or higher degree qualification, with a major in information technology (IT);

- Where such qualification was completed within 6 months prior to the application and which was undertaken by physical attendance at a campus within Australia of an Australian tertiary institution for at least 12 months full-time (one academic year)."

http://www.dest.gov.au/noosr/cep/aus...paust9.htm#9-2 shows that a Certificate IV qualification is not above a bachelor degree or graduate diploma, so Group C will not be applicable for you.
