Hi All,
My Appeal application was received on 24th Nov and since then status is 'in process'. I emailed them in first week of January and they replied 'it is with Assessor'. No response for recent emails. Today called and they saying it is still with Assessor and will take another two weeks.

Let us see.

Don't know man.Normally appeal takes 4-6 weeks. I think they are also handling backlog of Christmas Vacation (23rd Dec to 4th Jan).

I just wish they were straight with us all. Ok, most of us are looking at moving to Australia to make a better life. But, we have to jump through hoops to prove we have the skills.

I just wish that if the hoops are to keep moving, then they have the honesty to say "We are waiting for a directive from immigration before we can process any further applications" if this is the case. Maybe that's what "Awaiting documents" means?

Come on ACS, give us some credit - IT folk are generally a bright bunch of people! But we also wane when the goalposts change - remember we see it happen all the time in our jobs.

I'll leave that one to ACS themselves.

Our futures (and Autralia's) are in their hands....

Same for me. I got positive but without MODL. Now I have appealed for MODL points. Don't know when it will be of any use or not.

Why you got it without MODL?

Did not you mentions your occupation like 22ZZ-XX(C++ Specialist or SAP Specialist) etc on your ACS aplication form? OR your employer reference letters did not cry saying C++, C+++, C++++ I mean was your technology like C++ or SAP or C# was mentioned again and again in your employed reference letter?

I sent one reference letter (by my HR) mentioning I am working in C# with ASP.NET. Others were promotions letters. I have also done Master from Australia. So I thought it will be fine but unfortunately it was not. I was not aware that I need to cry in lots of reference letters

I submitted my application to the ACS in November and recently received positive-ish results. "-ish" because I program in C# and C and my employer references state very clearly and consistently that I do. On top of that I've completed "formal" courses in the languages and my mark sheets are very favourable. But the ACS assigned me simply as "Analyst Programmer 2231-17". I have no idea why they appear to have totally disregarded my C# and C experience and qualifications.

I think I can answer why you did not get the MODL thing.

Did you guys mention your specialization in the ACS application form like this:
2231-79 ( C or C# specialist) ...

If you did not mention this in the ACS form, Then I think this is your fault! what thing you mentioned on the ACS form.

Also what your agent say?

Same has happened with me. They say it is with Assessor. Am sure something mysterious is happening. Only time can tell or can ACS. Sigh!
