ACS Form

I'm after al little bit of advice.

I'm just about to start on the Areas of Knowledge part on the RPL form.
I was wondering what kind of info they require do I need to give a brief history of my knowledge or a really technical overview of each.

Are we talking 5 pages or 50 pages, I kind of just need some direction

Cheers

If you do a search, you will find a lot of Q&A's on this subject in the forum. Mine was about 32 pages in total and I covered 9 out of the 14 CBOK areas. I think the length of each depends on how deep your knowledge is in each area - I had some sections that were approx a page long and others that were about 3/4 pages long. What they are interested in is what you learnt during your work experience. Hope this helps

Hi,

have a look at some of the previous posts, my CBOK/RPL was around 100+ pages however I would say I "over-did" it. Typically 30-60 pages seems more normal depending on the breadth of your experience.

Expect the RPL document to take you a few weeks to do, depending how much spare time you have, and treat it as if it were a university thesis.

Also, a really important point... write about what you have LEARNT not what you have DONE

There have been a lot of posts with advice on the RPL, best to take a look at them, this post described a bit more about the sections I chose.

e.g. http://britishexpats.com/forum/showt...&highlight=RPL

good luck

Alex

Re: ACS Form

My cbok element was tiny in comparison to the entire submission. I literally wrote about 2 inches per topic ( i think i highlighted 9). My Rpl was 2-3 pages per report ( i did 3) what really bulked it out was code examples and a few other bits and pieces i included - essentially more code examples. The entire sumission weighed in at just a tad over 1 kilo !!!!

Its it also true that if I had a MCSE then this ACS would not be needed
