ACS RPL Result and claiming education and employment points for a 189 AU visa
I need your kind advise on claiming education and employment points for a 189 visa.
I have a non-ICT related bachelor's degree. Therefore, the qualification was not assessed by ACS and was recommended to take the RPL route, which I did and got the following results:
Your skills have been assessed to be suitable for migration under 261311 (Analyst Programmer) of the
ANZSCO Code.
The following employment after August 2008 is considered to equate to work at an appropriately
skilled level and relevant to 261311 (Analyst Programmer) of the ANZSCO Code.
Dates: 08/02 - 08/11 (9yrs 0mths)
Position: Application Developer
Employer: ABC
Dates: 08/11 - 05/13 (1yrs 9mths)
Position: Application Developer
Employer: XYZ
Question 1:
Given that this is an RPL application, please let me know if I can claim a bachelor degree for my education (15 pts) and skilled employment after august 2008 which is 5 years (10) points.
Question 2:
If yes, what should I state for the following under my education history?:
Qualification
Course name
Institution name
Question 3:
Should I also include my non-assessed bachelor's degree under my education history?
Question 4:
I am still an employee of XYZ but my assessment date is only until 05/13. Can I still claim my experience after this date?
My assumptions were based on the following:
The Australian Skills Recognition Information (ASRI) for Analyst Programmer - 261311 states that:
This occupation has a level of skill commensurate with a bachelor degree or higher qualification. At least five years of relevant experience may substitute for the formal qualification. In some instances relevant experience and/or on-the-job training may be required in addition to the formal qualification (ANZSCO Skill Level 1).
ACS states that:
The purpose of the RPL application is to give you the opportunity to demonstrate that you have acquired a level of knowledge equivalent to that of a formal tertiary ICT qualification.
I have a non-ICT related bachelor's degree. Therefore, the qualification was not assessed by ACS and was recommended to take the RPL route, which I did and got the following results:

ACS years deduction: last 10 years only?
Hi all,
I know it's subject which have been much debated recently, but I still would like to know if someone have been in the following case: I've worked for 13 years. but only worked 9 years in the last 10 years (took a sabbatical somewhere in the middle). And I graduated with a major in ICT, so i should get the minimal deduction.
Problem is I only have reference letters from April 2001 to September 2013 : 12 years and 5 month (minus my year off)
If I understand the ACS guideline right: "it is either 2 years in the past 10 years or 4 years in any time period" which means with the given reference letter they can estimated I'm skilled from September 2005 but then I can only prove 7 years of skilled work, thanks to the year off ... What happened from 2001 to 2003 won't be taken in account, Right?
If they take 4 years out of the total time, then i'm skilled from April 2005 ... and I can account for 7 years and half...
So, the way it's done I miss the maximum points with 12/13 years of experience and a major in ICT! Did i miss something?
Anyone here have been in this case?
Any advice is welcome :-)
Cheers
Ju

I knew it was not that clear Sorry!
In fact, I'm a bit alarmed by this extract from the Skill-Assessment-Guideline-For-Applicants.pdf document found on ACS website:
This is weird.. why not simply taking 2 years off the entire working period?

For a relevant degree, it is either 2 years in the past 10 years or 4 years in any time period, whichever is earlier.

Okay found it now. I did read that document but missed it as I was skimming. You could try contacting ACS with your query, but I haven't heard of someone having 4 years deducted if they have a relevant degree. It also isn't on the summary criteria - http://www.acs.org.au/__data/assets/...f-Criteria.pdf
I'm going to write to the ACS. I'll post on the forum whatever reply I get from them.
