Default About ANZSCO Codes 261311(Analyst programmer) / 261312(Developer programmer)

Hy,

I have applied for skill assesment of Asco code 2231-79 Computing Professionals not elsewhere(.Net technologies) , and it is in Scehdule 4 and waiting for ACS Decision.

I finished my IT degree back in Nov 08 and since Feb 09 I am working as a Programmer in Brisbane.

Am I eligible for ANZSCO Codes 261311(Analyst programmer) or 261312(Developer programmer)? As these occupations are in schedule 3.

Thanks,
ALI

why have you applied for ASCO code? did you apply before July 1 this year? The equivalent ANZSCO code for 2231-79 does not seem to be very useful because it is a mixture of specializations .it is hence unlikely that this will be included in any SMP as well..

what is the current status of your application?

Hi,

I already have skill assesment for Asco code 2231-79 Computing Professionals not elsewhere. The reason I applied for skill assesment again is to claim the MODL points under 2231-79 Computing Professionals not elsewhere(.NET).I am eligible for MODL points as I have 485 visa.
I applied to ACS on 11 June and now it is been more than 3 months and still waiting for decision.

Also I am waiting for new QLD state skilled sponsor list , then I will decide whether I go for 885 0r 886 visa.

Thanks,
ALI

As of now, with MODL revoked from July 1 onwards, all the 2231-79 regardless of with or without spacilization is classified as 261399 which is in schedule 4(not eligible for independent skilled visa) and is also not in any state migration plan(states like vic are yet to announce there plans but personally I dont have any hope on 261399 being included). ACS was doing free reassessments for letters issued on May 1 to July 1.

You need to first check what is the status of your application, but i reiterate that with MODL revoked, it wont be of much use. What you can try is to see if you can lodge another assessment application for 261311(Analyst programmer) / 261312(Developer programmer). Since you are into .net, it is likely that you will be granted a +ve assessments on any of these 2, apply on which one you think suits you the most.

Hi Ali,

What IT degree did you finish back in Nov 2008? I'm on the same boat, finished a bachelor in IT back in Nov 2008 but I got 2231-79 (nec) in March 2009, applied for 885 in May and now waiting.

I want to re-apply for a skills assessment as a .NET developer, I don't know which category to choose. What supportive documents will you supply with your skills assessment? I haven't got any certificate but I've got a couple of years of .NET experience.
