Default 457ie timescales?

I am now 7 weeks into my application and according to the immi web site the timescale is 3 weeks. I do understand that there have been a large number of applications due to the 1st March changes. However someone posted here that they were told 2 weeks ago that the timescale was 28 working days.
I would be interested to know if anyone knows the true timescale and if anyone has obtained approval for a 457ie recently and how long it took.

Hi Tony

Yes we were asked to do our medicals on the 6th March and booked them for the 12th March. So now its just waiting for the final thing i hope.

Dont worry too much I think they have had more than their fare share of applications due to the new regulations.

Speak to you soon

Jan :-)

Hi there, Mrs Bleggy here
May I ask where you had your medicals done? Earliest dates I can get is 1 month away, don't mind travelling if we can get them done quicker!
Thanks x

Had medicals in Hull and had to wait 2 weeks for an appointment.
I have heard the wait could be shorter for Sheffield.

Best of luck

Hi, Missus Bleggy...

We booked ours today in Nottingham. Wait is just as long there, but booked anyway for 29th April. I didn't phone Sheffield in the end - I assumed it would be about the same.

See you soon

Hi

I rung York first but they gave me the 27th March so thought i would ring around. Hull was on my list next and we were lucky got the appointment just a week later. They were brilliant at Hull, everything went quickly, and the staff were so nice. I just hope they sent the medicals to the right place!

I thought we might receive the medicals for us to send off. This was the case when we had X-rays done in Sheffield.

I think I would rather send them myself so I know they have gone. It might be an idea to take an envelope ready prepared/

Hi

We had the medicals and Xrays done at the same time and everything was there in front of us. Apparently they send all medicals on to the immigration dept, as i did enquire about this.

I have only had X-Rays, medical and X-Ray for our Daughter.

Have you actually been asked for Medicals in addition to X-Rays?

Hi Tony

I had Xray only, my partner had medical, Xray and blood tests because of his medical history, my 12 year old had Xray and medical and my 8 year old had medical. Not bad to say I am the applicant and i just had the Xray.

I really think that they have so many applications to deal with and thats why its taking a bit longer than usual. Dont worry too much, keep thinking positive!
