457ie and raising finance

457ie and raising finance
Has anyone on a 457ie had difficulty in raising money for a business mortgage? I had a chat with someone at Commonwealth who seems to think it won't be too easy if you've not owned a business before, and also the fact that we will be on temp residence visas. He also said that we wouldn't have an established credit rating in Oz or a good financial record to back us up.
If anyone has any experiences they can share, or contacts for raising finance, would be much appreciated.

If you are in London next week you might want to attend a seminar that a partner in our joint venture firm of accountants is running on Setting Up a Business in Australia. One of the topics he is including is business finance - which is why I thought it worth mentioning.
