Employment in Fiji - Citizenship for Australia
Dear All,
I have got an employment but the employer has told me that all my work will be based in Fiji Island. I have a question that will the time I spend on this Island add to my Citizenship time?

No. Fiji is not part of Australia. It is an island country.

No, if you want to get citizenship you should be turning down overseas jobs. My company was looking for someone to go to NZ, great job but no way would I take it whilst only a permanent resident.

I am also wondering, won't it cause the issue at RRV stage (assuming one doesn't qualify for citizenship), if one has spent time outside of Australia (while on PR), how can he/she will qualify for "strong ties" to Australia for extension in visa?

Sorry for being nosy, but isn't your visa SA state sponsored? Would it cause any problems if you move straight to Fiji? I don't know much about this sort of stuff but thought it might be worth mentioning?
