Well that just shows how random the process is. I submitted all mine on 3rd October (also Perth) and still haven't heard by today, 5th December - 4 more weeks already than yours took. Apparently my nomination was approved on Friday, so at least it isn't lost. Hopes of flying before Christmas are fading very fast.
I did say in my application that I needed my visa by December 1st, and that seems have put me up the list a bit

Oh god, this waiting is driving me insane! I know I haven't been waiting as long as some people on here. Initial estimates from my sponsor were 6 weeks!
*sigh* another week goes by without a single word. Can't plan your life, can't organise your finances, can't pack, can't book a flight, can't get involved with anything because you might be leaving, don't know if you'll still be here at Christmas, can't hand in notice in current job, keeping it secret... life in limbo. Is this what it's like in prison?
