Question 457 Visa restrictions

Hi All,

Having read the document on wiki regarding 457 visa restrictions I wondered if anybody knew what the go is with regards to studying over here under that visa?

I would like to study something unrelated to my current job and wondered if this was allowed seeing as though I'm sponsored to be in this country to do that job alone.

I know you can't work in any other secondary job wondered if the same limitations applied to studying other subjects?

Any info on this matter would be greatly appreciated,

Cheers guys

Hi Lisa,

Depends on the conditions on your visa - see the visa label or grant email - but normally 457 holders are allowed to study at the same time as working.

Bear in mind that you may need to pay international fees.

Oh right? Because I'm not a permanent resident? That's a bit of a bummer...does that depend on the college/course? I'm guessing so..

Thanks for raising that...
