Default 457 visa question

Hi every one
I am currently in austrailia and I am applying for my 457 visa,,,
I have some criminal convictions 1 assult 1 racially aggravated abh and assult on a constable which were both at the same time in 2005,
I did not go to jail but had 200 hours community service and 18 months rehabilitation (anger management) I won't lie I was 20 young and dumb and mixed with alcohol I just lost it one night thro jealousy
This is obviously going to be a problem gaining my visa as it looks like I have a bad character does any one have any advise or no if I even stand a chance of getting it approved. P.s I have a partner and 2 children waiting to join me if it's granted otherwise I guess mission failed thanks

How did you get into Australia in the first place? Did you declare your convictions when you applied for your present visa? I would think your biggest hurdle would be if you didn't declare them in the first instance and then have to get a police clearance now.

Either way, I would contact a MARA registered migration agent who can help you put the best possible case forward. George Lombard comes very highly recommended for particularly tricky cases. He's in Sydney and you can find his details by googling.
