It depends on where you come from, along with a few other things.
For the UK I think the website states it is NORMALLY under 2 months, but for other countries it can be longer.
Fingers crossed you get it soon.

18 months or so ago, 8 weeks was a very normal and in fact short wait for a 457....just look at the early posts in the 'Who's Applying 457' Thread.

But they did appear to have got a bit quicker lately.

we did start ages ago - bloody employer's hr dept are useless and 4 months later still haven't got the paperwork together. OH is 45 in less than 2 months so we are sweating it a bit now.

And it's now too late to get a IELTS test in time to go independant route (only got extra 10 points for experience 2 weeks ago and still need the extra 10 from IELTS to go that way)

If the company screw us over we only have SIR left and that means another 3 years on temp regional visa (no house buying and international fees for me to study and no benefits etc etc) by the time you add in all the processing times. And we could have applied for that back at beginning of year if HR been honest enough to say they were too incompetant to get a few bits of paper together. Do I sound bitter??? LOL

Default Case Officer - no reply to emails!

We applied for our 457 visa 24th Nov 08, we recieved email saying that we needed to send docs which we did the same day by email. I've asked for confirmation several times from our co and no reply, I called him and he said he would have to take the convictions issue to his manager my husband had a conviction 24 years ago resulting in a fine!!! I then mailed him to ask if we could have the managers name in order to resolve the issue in case we need anymore documentation and still no reply!

Has anyone had similar experiences?

They do not usually reply to to emails.I sent 3 emails requesting them to confirm that they had received my additional documents.i DID NOT RECEIVE ANY reply until i sent a message through the online contact page.It was actually someone else who replied saying they have not received the documents. This was three weeks after emailing the documents.I had to email them again. That was when the online status changed to docs received.

wHERE DO I GET THE PHONE NUMBER OF MY CASE OFFICER

I was going to send an email to the CO, asking for an update. I don't know why they don't bother sending a short email and giving an update to the applicants!!
