457/TSS deadline to provide docs

Hello everyone!

First of all, thank you for sharing your experience and knowledge on this forum! I've read through a lot and it has made my research into visas much less complicated.

Me and my partner were originally looking into 189, however he got a job offer through 457/TSS (yaaaay)!!

It's all good news, but they are ready to lodge the visa within the next month and is a bit soon. My question is, once the employer has been approved and is time for our application, is there a deadline to provide all documents? Also are they provided at different stages or all at once? Employer is not in a rush, and neither are we, but as i understand, employment must commence within 90 days after the visa has been granted.

We need to sort out my expired passport and also sit an IELTS test are we are not British passport holders.

Thanks!

If neither you nor the employer are in a rush and you are after a permanent move then why not carry on with the 189 application and take up job when you are ready.

You will be given a time frame for submitting documents by the way. It would be risky to try to stall the process by delaying submission, in case that is what you were thinking.

Thanks for the reply!

Opportunity is too good to miss (and we have to wait until 2019 to get 65 points for the 189)! Guess we will have to sort things out quickly.
