Hi Akkie !
I called DIMIA and asked Residency for that letter. Sent of letter,
application form, authorisation form and copy passport to friend in
Amsterdam and she went to the council. The certificate was sent to me
in Australia directly within 4 weeks. It's valid for a year.

Hi Akkie !
I finally received the paperwork for the second stage. I got everything
on the 12th of April and applied on the 4th of May 2 years ago. I did
call them on Monday last week to ask when I was to receive the papers.
They give me 60 days to finalize everything. They also state it may
take several months.

GOT IT !! My wife and I are well pleased.

After Fiancé Visa and marriage, lodged Temp Spouse Visa application 02/04/04
in Perth.

Request from DIMA for 2nd Stage evidence dated 01/03/06 (so 1 month before 2 year anniversary, not 2 months). Letter stated evidence must be lodged by 07/04/06. Also that if not yet available, AFP and any o/seas police certs could be submitted later, but evidence that these were requested must be supplied by 07/04/06. So 5 weeks allowed for lodgement, not 8 weeks as other people have been allowed. Letter also stated there will be a processing time of several months.

Lodged 2nd Stage evidence etc 14/03/06

PR granted 24/04/06. So approx 5 weeks after lodgement, and 3 weeks after 2 year anniverary of temp spouse lodgement.

Thanks to all on this forum who helped in the early days of my application.

And thanks to my case officer for such a quick approval, if she's reading this and recognises me from the dates.

Cheers

Hi

I will be expecting my request from DIMIA in Sept/Oct this year and have a question for anyone who may be able to help!

I am a South African, who was living the UK when I applied for my spouse visa. I submitted both South African and UK Police clearances for my initial application. I have been back to South Africa since arriving in Australia. SO.... I beleive I need to submit an AFP and South African police clearance for my PR application - but will I also need to submit a UK one? I haven't been back to the UK since I left to live here.

Many thanks!!

You dont need to resend your UK police check but if you do go and visit the UK then you will have to.

Hi there,

I have just received my 2nd stage paperwork but I have a few queries and would be grateful if someone could help me in here.

1) Which visa subclass should I be filling in for the AFP check? Is it subclass "801" if I am applying in Australia?

2) Under the evidence categories, do I have to submit signed statements from both my husband and myself or just one signed statement from both parties will do?

Thank you in advance for anyone who could help me with my queries

If you originally applied offshore, it's still the "100" visa, not 801.

On the letter you got it should tell you what subclass under your file number at the top on the first page.

If you applied out side Australia you should have got a temp subclass 309 then your applying for subclass 100

or if you applied in Australia you would have got a temp subclass 820 then you will be applying for an subclass 801

your find your currant subclass on your currant visa if you look.

When I did mind I had the same question regarding statuary Dec's I phoned DIMA up and there told me I needed one from both of us thats what I was told.

I do no some people do a joint one but you have to be really careful how you word them.

I hope this helps.

Hi JAJ & pomref,

Thanks for your replies.

The letter doesn't indicate the visa subclass that I am supposed to be applying for.

But currently I am holding the visa subclass "309" so I assume I should be applying for visa subclass "100" now.

Thanks once again for your help, appreciated the replies

Regards.
