2231-17 in priority 3 or 4?
Please help me to figure it out where do I stand: on 10 December I've got the assessment from ACS asco: 2231-17, on 2 January I've put the online application at DIAC.
I am on group priority 3 or 4? And why?
Thank you in advance for your time and explanations.

Re: 2231-17 in priority 3 or 4?
Hi,
I am on the same ASCO Code (2231-17) and from what I can see we are in priority 4.
What I want to know is do I have to get reassessed by ACS to get the ANZSCO code and will I have to pay the full fee again.
I have looked at various sites but can't find a straight answer.

This is what George Lombard has to say about this issue

c) IT people - ACS has advised that if your skills assessment was issued between 1 May and 30 June you can be reassessed under ANZSCO for free, but be careful that you have an occupation on the SOL ("Schedule 3) or State SOL ("Schedule 4") before you request that reassessment, and be prepared to justify the occupation you choose. Every existing ACS assessment needs to be reissued if it hasn't been linked to a visa application already, those issued before 1 May require an entirely new skills assessment application and fee. Also important for IT people to be aware that there are now a number of totally excluded IT occupations and at this stage the IT occupations being sponsored by states are unknown, so therefore only current SOL occupations are safe. This is going to be particularly hard on many specialists awarded MODL/CSL status under the previous SOL.
d) There is no "direct mapping" of ACS occupations from the old SOL to the new SOL or new State SOL.

George Lombard

The official response to a PLE on this mater
Due to the recent changes in priority processing and list of occupations I have the following questions:
1. I applied under ASCO code 2231-17 and, according to the new SOL schedule 3, I can qualify for either 261311 or 261312. Do I have to specifically point to one of those two new codes or it will be chosen one for me by default?
2. Can you, please, confirm that now I am in group 3 of priority processing (according to the new SOL schedule 3 ) or do I have to do something else to get into this priority group?
The response:
"Thank you for your email in relation to your visa application under Australia's General Skilled Migration program.
I confirm that your nominated occupation of Applications and Analyst Programmer is included on Schedule 3 of the Skilled Occupations List, which automatically puts your application in category 3 for priority processing. Your application will be allocated to a case officer in lodgement date order. No further action is required by you.
Further information on the priority processing direction is available on the department's website at <http://www.immi.gov.au/skilled/general-skilled-migration/whats-new.htm>
Information on our current processing timeframes can be obtained by sending a blank email to [email protected] <mailto:[email protected]> This is an automated service providing processing information only. Please do not send any other enquiry or information to this email address.
