190 Victoria sponsorship statement request

We have applied for 190 state sponsorship with Victoria. I'm a Podiatrist. I have a cousin in WA and because of this they want me to write a statement why we want to live in Victoria over WA. I can easily write that as we have many reasons why WA isn't for us. We have spent the last 2 years researching Australia and are 100% sure Victoria is where we want to be.
My question is, has anyone had to write a similar statement and have they been successful?
A part of me wishes we hadn't mentioned my cousin, but I didn't want to lie.

So what's your question? If you need to write a statement and you can easily write one then what's the dilemma? Write the statement and go to Victoria. Easy peasy.

My question was, has anyone been in the same situation and been successful in their application? It has made me wonder if they now won't take me as a serious applicant. Just wanted to know if it's possible to get past this hurdle.
